The Director of Grower Relations is responsible to develop and oversee
contract grower operations. Goal is to increase and improve the efficiency,
diversity, quality and quantity of produce programs with our Grower Partners.
The Director shall integrate our Grower Partners into our Direct Farming
Schedule to create consistent high quality supply from multiple regions into
year-round programs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Visit Growers and the Company's direct farming operations regularly (domestic
and international) to advise on crop management practices (including irrigation,
fertilizer, pest and disease control, harvesting, and other farm related
functions)
2. Negotiate supply agreements with Growers to meet the Company’s targeted
quality and quantity objectives for multiple growing regions
3. Effectively communicate progress on the Company's services (packing,
distribution, sales, marketing) as primary liaison to Grower
4. Negotiate with Farm Supply Vendors to purchase Farm Inputs (plastic,
fertilizer, chemicals, etc.)
5. Develop and forecast Crop Planting and Harvesting Schedules for multiple
regions
6. Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of Grower Relations experience and 3+ years at a similar level
2. Strong Technical proficiency in all matters of vegetable production
3. Strong proficiency in MS Office Suite and other computer systems
4. Effective written and verbal communication. Bilingual English/Spanish a
strong plus.
5. Ability to travel extensively, international and domestic. Must have a valid
driver's license and passport.
