SUMMARY: The General Manager is charged with the execution of
responsibilities focused on implementing plans and strategies for the
improvement of internal business controls, daily operations and sales and
financial profitability.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the coordination and control of the business plan and profitability.
Communicate job expectations, performance goals and company standards to ensure customer service standards are achieved.
Develop, implement and meet financial budgetary guidelines.
Drive DC sales and profitability by assisting in the identification of local and mass markets.
Interface with customers and assist in troubleshooting issues that arise.
Oversee operations to ensure smooth and efficient running DC.
Develop and implementing continuous improvement programs.
Recruit, retain, motivate, coach and develop focused, goal-orientation management team members.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment.
Hands on, energetic and motivated self-starter.
Understanding of financial measures and other related analysis.
Success in leading and managing a collaborative, mission-driven organization.
Ability to think strategically, understand industry trends and dynamics, and visualize and develop long term plans for DC.
Ability to troubleshoot operational, sales, staff or customer issues.
Proven organizational and multitasking skills.
Fluent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
Strong sense of urgency with ability to work and excel in fast-paced, highly collaborative environment.
Sales focused with ability to drive and earn sales
Effective presentation skills
Ability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands.
Ability to travel on behalf of the Company as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: College graduate
in Agriculture, Business or Food Sciences-related specialty or equivalent
training and experience. 5+ years demonstrated experience in
produce/retail/wholesale/distribution food industry. Knowledge of
perishable food distribution preferred, specifically in operations, purchasing,
sales and marketing arena. Competent with computer sales and operations
systems and Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
