A market leading producer of innovative, high quality pre-cut vegetables products is currently seeking a Director of Produce Sourcing.  Our sales have grown tremendously over the past several years, and we are continuing that trend for the future.

Position Responsibilities:

• Overall responsibility for raw material procurement.

• Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans to meet forecasted sales demands.

• Responsible for developing and implementing annual operating budget.  Make recommendations for capital expenditures.

• Develop and manage long-term relationships with existing and new grower base.  Responsible for creation and execution of all sourcing contracts.  Manage transitions from various sourcing regions.

• Responsible for daily harvest estimates and schedules, quality assurance, productivity and cost control.

• Coordinate and communicate with Sales, Operations, and top management on raw product quality and availability versus forecasts.  Develop plans to resolve variances.

• Evaluate and implement cost reduction opportunities for raw product procurement.

• Evaluate and recommend seed varieties that improve product quality and customer acceptance.

• Manage a staff of four procurement personnel.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Ag, Crop Science, or related area, or equivalent experience.

• 5-10 years increasing responsibility in sourcing with agricultural companies.

• In-depth knowledge on broccoli production and harvesting.

• Ability to long-term forecast and plan harvesting requirements accordingly.

• Finance minded, profit oriented and ability to understand bottom line goals and objectives.

• Strong interpersonal/communication skills.

• Spanish speaking ability is a plus.
