Job description
  1. Work in the Day shift and on weekend and public holiday
  2. Serves as the secondary support for the Operations manager
  3. Assist in the enforcement of all warehouse related standard operating procedure and process.
  4. Ensure customer satisfaction through proper product quality, quantity and accuracy and proper loading of product into the trucks
  5. Ensure daily operations are maintained as scheduled.
  6. Collects and reviews mandatory department reports.
  7. Provide departmental coverage, support, leadership, and professionalism at all times
  8. Participate in the hiring process of new warehouse employees
  9. Requires a flexible work schedule
  10. Performs other projects, administrative and operations duties as required. Manage employees to make sure warehouse is left in good condition after shift and that all pallets are broken down evenly
  11. Overseas proper warehouse maintenance and safekeeping.
  12. Responsible to maintain warehouse in full compliance with all Federal, State and local regulatory safety, labor, worker’s comp and health requirements.
  13. Participation in overall development of Division's Profit Planning
  14. Performance of special cost studies as required (e.g. delivery, Labor sorting) 
  15. Responsible for controlling labor cost.
  16. Responsible for minimizing shrinkage of product.
  17. Responsible for establishing staffing schedules.
  18. Selection, training development, motivation, review and control of warehouse employees to assure continuity of efficient operations.
  19. Requires a flexible work schedule

Education and Experience:

  1. Must have minimum of 5 years warehouse management experience.
  2. Must have a background in the produce industry. 
  3. Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
  4. Prefer bilingual in English/Spanish.
  5. Must be able to communicate effectively, i.e. staff meetings, employee reviews, reporting, etc.
  6. Degree preferred but not required in lieu of experience.
  7. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.

Abilities and Skills:

  1. Ability to manage the pressure associated with deadline-oriented atmosphere and customer service issues. Demonstrates skill in making independent decisions in support of company policies and procedures in a timely manner
  2. Ability to solve practical and analytical problems.
