Reports To: VP of Distribution & Logistics
Summary: Ensures correct volumes by commodity, harvest
date and region are accurate and shipped for packing by
performing the following duties personally or through
subordinate managers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the
following. Other duties may be assigned.

Manages Food Safety and Physical safety programs in the
department.

Recommends changes in systems or technology to improve
quality and or efficiency of products.

Responsible for all DOT in house over the road
operations including ensuring maintenance and employee
management.

Responsible for, and the reporting of, metrics relating
to quality and accuracy of box packing.

Responsible for ensuring all products received in
facility meets quality specifications.

Oversees facility, pre-packing, inventory and shipping.

Establishes and implements Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

Ensures quality assurance.
-
Monitors compliance and growth of freight department.

Oversees facility, repacking, inventory and shipping.
-
Works with the Executive Team for company strategic
planning.

Ability to get along and work effectively with others is
required.

Regular, predictable attendance is required.
Supervisory Responsibilities - Directly supervises a
Distribution Manager who currently supervises a total of
50 employees in the department. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include
interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning,
assigning, and directing work; appraising performance;
rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience – Four-year degree from
accredited college or university or equivalent; or four
to ten years related experience and/or training; or
equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with traditional wholesale produce model,
fresh produce knowledge and understanding of what it
takes to move volume and when not to move volume.
Computer Skills – To perform this job successfully, an
individual should have knowledge of Internet software
and the Microsoft Office Suite of products. Knowledge of
basic office equipment should include: Internet and
email, copy and fax machines, postage meter and
telephone.
