REPORTS TO: Plant QFSOI Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Plant QFSOI Technicians
OBJECTIVE: The Plant QFSOI Supervisor plays an important role in
creating a successful food safety culture by supervising the day to
day activity of QFSOI personnel, ensuring tasks are always performed
in a manner that protects and promotes food safety.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide leadership and supervision to Plant QFSOI personnel.

Implement GMP’s and assist staff members and others in compliance.

Establish and maintain a positive work environment.
-
Generate daily summary of events.
-
Conduct weekly tailgate meetings.
-
Conduct process and documentation audits as needed to ensure
compliance with Safety rules and GMPs.
-
Implement Corrective Action initiatives ensuring food safety issues
are resolved in a timely manner to minimize consumer risk, cost, and
production down time.

Train the Plant QFSOI employees at the beginning of every season and
upon hiring in food safety and good manufacturing practices.
-
Assist with delivery of Food Safety and GMP training for all
Earthbound Farm employees.

Maintain accurate and complete plant food safety and quality
documentation.

Conduct daily pre-operation inspections.
-
Must be able and willing to take on additional assignments and work
independently to completion.

Contribute to a successful food safety culture by following the
established guidelines as outlined in the Earthbound Farm Food
Safety Policy.

Follow all Company food safety protocols without fail.
-
Always perform tasks in a manner that protects and promotes food
safety.

Cooperate with managers and other leaders to ensure all Company
legal and ethical requirements are met.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
-
Bachelor's Degree (four year college or university) in Food Science,
Microbiology, or related field OR minimum 5 years professional
experience in a QA supervisory role within a fresh cut manufacturing
environment.

Knowledge of manufacturing processes, GMPs, Food Safety, SOPs and
Quality Control standards.

Ability to compile, analyze and present data in a summary to
multi-level audiences.

Strong working proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and
PowerPoint.
-
Excellent written/verbal communication skills. Must be able to read,
write and communicate in the English language.

Bilingual
English/Spanish strongly preferred.

Document control experience with strong knowledge of process,
documentation and reporting standards.

Strong sense of urgency.

Demonstrates ethical values and accepted professional standards:
-
Ability to relocate to Yuma, AZ during winter growing season
typically November thru April.
-
Flexible with schedule and able to work PM, weekends, and overtime
as required
-
Able to perform other functions such as standing, walking, sitting,
twisting and carrying objects for at least 8-10 hours per day
WORKING CONDITIONS: Working conditions include occasional exposure to a cold, wet
environment (34-36 degrees F), the smell of chlorine, outdoor
weather conditions, the presence of heavy machinery and forklift
traffic, and loud noises.
