C.M. Holtzinger Fruit, located in Yakima Washington, is the largest
provider of packing, marketing, distributing and selling of Washington State
apples exclusively serving the independent grower. Grower volume exceeds
80 million packed pounds per year sold to over 35 different countries.
Holtzinger aims to maximize the independent apple grower’s returns through a
coordinated effort of all company departments – especially field and sales.
As a result of aggressive growth in volume and profits, Holtzinger is adding a
Director: Field & Procurement to its field services function.
Reporting to the Vice President, Field and Sales, the Director, Field &
Procurement will lead the field services team in acquiring additional volume of
fruit to pack and sell by achieving outstanding results for every grower served
by Holtzinger. The goal of Holtzinger is to maximize profitable revenue
for every apple delivered to their packing operations. The field services
team and Field Director work closely with growers in advising on horticultural
and harvesting matters and, in assisting the grower with creative financial and
business solutions to their challenges. As a result of this broad range of
services, Holtzinger has been able to retain and add to its cadre of quality
growers.
You could be a Field Manager responsible for procurement of fruit or produce,
and for selling packing services to growers. Or, you could be a Sales
Manager who has great grower relations. Or, you could be responsible for
the sale and delivery of supplies or services, such as chemicals or fertilizers,
to growers. You must possess managerial experience including planning,
goal setting and mentoring staff. In addition, you possess excellent
grower/customer relations.
