Seeking an IT Generalist who can perform IS administration procedures and maintains documentation, with knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.  Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.  Works under immediate supervision from IT Management.  Responsible for a mixed Windows environment consisting of 30 workstations and 8 servers in a virtualized environment.  Must have strong research, written and verbal communication skills, and will be expected to take direction and carry out most tasks independently
 

Qualifications, Experience, Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 3 years equivalent work experience

• General knowledge of enterprise back-up systems and the principles of system backups, availability, scheduling, server capacity and performance. (BackupExec, NTBackup)

• Experience with remotely supporting offices & users

• Experience supporting in a production environment (implementation experience a plus)

• Windows Server 2000 or higher, including security and patch management

• MS Exchange 2003 or higher, and blackberry enterprise server.

• Virtualization Hyper-V or VMWare.

• Anti-virus, Spyware and other security tools, SMB/Enterprise Security products, (Trend Micro) Anti Spam for Exchange.

• SharePoint Services, ISA, or other Windows based technologies in support of business objectives.

Essential Skills Required

• Good troubleshooting skills with:

  • Windows Operating Systems (server and client), Linux a plus.

  • Serve/Desktop Hardware including BIOS, firmware, and drivers.

  • TCP/IP networks

• Excellent Windows server skills in the areas of Active Directory architecture, TCP/IP, DNS, Windows system and application installation, system-level security procedures, and experience maintaining servers for services such as DNS, SMTP, DHCP, mail, web, printing and FTP service.

• Strong research and problem solving skills.

Desired Skills

• Enterprise Wi-Fi, Radius, VPN, IPSec, NFS, iSCSI, SAN, UPS.

• Cisco IOS, routing, firewall, ids

• General knowledge of SIP, trunking, VoIP, telephony, (Panasonic Digital PBX a plus)

• Terminal Server/Citrix

• Oracle DB management, SQL query, and report writing skills a plus (InfoMaker)

• Manage WAN link, public IP address routing, DNS, port forwarding, NAT, firewalls. Manage WAN link failover configuration, load balancing.

• Procurement of software through enterprise licensing.
