In this important position, located in Commerce, CA you will plan,
manage, and control key activities of the Commerce Bakery Supply Chain.
Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, you will:
Manage Commerce Bakery -- capacity planning functions, product alignment, new
product introduction, SKU reduction, product/material obsolescence, product
run-outs, KPI reporting/tracking, and working capital optimization initiatives.
Manage and control the Commerce production facility Supply Chain team to include
supply planning, material purchasing/coordination, master and finite scheduling,
inter-plant transfer planning, all inventory control functions, receiving
functions, and supervision of Material Handlers. Interface with factory staff to
improve operations and address supply chain related issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
• Interface with Operations, Customer Fulfillment, Transportation, Quality
Assurance, Product Development, Technical Services, Packaging, Demand Planning
etc. to develop optimum business plans to insure high service levels, freshness,
asset utilization and control working capital for the Commerce facility.
• Create and maintain the Master Schedule for all Commerce produced/supplied
products that are sold to Foodservice, Industrial, and Chain accounts.
• Manage short and long-term production planning with a focus on improving
service levels, improving plant performance and reducing material inventories.
• Assure availability, accuracy, and control of all materials maintained and
used at the Commerce Bakery Facility through management of Purchasing,
Receiving, Materials Handlers, and Inventory Analysts functions and personnel.
• Monitor Commerce purchasing activities relating to raw & packaging materials.
Review and adjust purchasing strategies to optimize inventory levels.
• Manage all MRP system settings to ensure optimal inventory levels and
purchasing criteria for raw and packaging components are maintained.
• Manage the development and implementation of systems and procedures in order
to control and reduce inventories of raw materials, packaging, finished goods, &
WIP.
Competencies:
This role requires superior customer service skills and attention to
detail. Plus the ability to demonstrate persistence with regard to
challenging goals to overcome obstacles. You must be able to manage
competing demands and be willing to change approach or method to
best fit the situation.
Must have the planning and organization skills to gather and
analyzes information skillfully, in order to identify and develop
alternative solutions to resolve issues in a timely manner. Must
know how to prioritize and plan work activities to use time
efficiently.
Must be able to demonstrate the business acumen necessary to
understand the implications of decisions with regard to conserving
organizational resources, and working within approved budget. Should
have the insight to help develop and implement cost saving measures.
Key is the ability to make sound and accurate judgment with regard
to decisions and support/ explain reasoning for making timely
decisions.
Education and/or Experience
• BS/BA-Business Management or Related Degree
• 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent
combination of education and experience
• Working knowledge of ERP systems (at the Plant level) with
emphasis on MRP based operation to include forecasting, scheduling,
purchasing, inventory control, receiving, and MRP data base settings
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, EXCEL, and Outlook
