Position: Ag. Ops Support

Department: Ag. Ops

Reports To: Vice President of Ag Operations & Production Assistant

Location: Salinas, CA

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The Ag. Ops Support role will work closely with Ag Ops providing assistance within farming, harvesting and/or shipping core areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support data collection, review, and reporting while emphasizing information gathered through Excel worksheets and pivot tables.
  • Support special projects testing, report results and recommendations.
  • Reporting and data gathering to be completed with iPad.
  • Assist with pipeline of special projects
  • Performing all other duties, tasks, and projects, as assigned by management.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Agribusiness or related area, or equivalent experience preferred
  • Ag experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word preferred
  • Familiarity with iPad
  • Willingness to learn Tableau software
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule
  • Ability to perform computations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division correctly; Solve practical problems by choosing appropriately from a variety of mathematical techniques such as formulas and percentages.

WORK EFFICIENCIES:

  • Ability to travel to different work site operations including Imperial Valley desert
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Adaptable to changing priorities
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment, excellent time management skills, self-motivated, attention to detail and accuracy, great organizational skills, excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work in a respectfull and professional manner with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Work onsite and meet position’s attendance schedule, as required by the job.
  • Capacity to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Aptitude to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Bilingual/Biliterate – English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to efficiently present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, clients and customers of the organization.
