Job Title: Accounts Payable Manager

Department: Accounting

Reports to: Accounting Manager

Location: Salinas, CA

We are seeking applicants that are dependable, self-motivated, high-energy team members. Minimum 6+ year’s full cycle work experience in high-volume accounts payable processing. Bachelor’s degree with business, finance or accounting focus required. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead team of 6+ direct reports
  • Manage the day to day AP operations, ensure AP operations comply with company policies and internal controls
  • Daily review of accrual, aging and process status reports
    • Take necessary actions to address issues that arise in above reports
    • Address “Escalations” and resolve the “why”
  • Address or delegate inquiries from internal personnel and/or external vendors in a timely manner
  • Manage vendor inquiries – ensure forms are completed properly and submitted for processing in a timely manner
  • Prepare daily ACH payment runs, and weekly check runs
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and year-end close activities
    • Intercompany account reconciliations
    • Accruals: AP Accruals, Prepaid Expenses and Accrued Expenses
    • Prepare audit schedules
    • Work with external auditors during preliminary and field work
  • Prepare monthly intercompany wire
  • Prepare and file monthly sales use tax reports
  • Prepare and file annual 1099s
  • Ensure permits, licenses and certifications deadlines are met to avoid penalties
  • Maintain equipment and building lease schedules
  • Identify, drive and implement process improvements

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of full cycle Accounts Payable experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory and leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s degree with business, finance or accounting focus
  • Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment with the flexibility to adapt quickly 
  • Must have excellent communication skills and use good judgment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to gather and analyze information and resolve difficulties quickly
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (advanced formulas, formatting and pivot tables)
  • Experience working in an ERP system
