Melon Sales Representative
The Melon Sales Representative is responsible for contract sales accounts for a large scale, national fruit and vegetable grower shipper marketer. Starting Salary Range is $85k to $130k. This full-time salaried role is responsible for servicing current customer accounts, as well as, seeking to develop new accounts. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly organized, efficient with their time, a problem solver that works well within a team while striving to excel with their customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce sales and account management to existing and new customers including daily, program, and contract accounts.
Negotiate sales contracts with substantial customer accounts.
Oversee and manage customer supply contract agreements
Establish and monitor ongoing contract administration
Manage daily customer communications to provide superior customer service.
Maintain consistent communication with industry contacts to understand market pricing, product availability, and quality challenges.
Input, track and review sales orders and inventory levels.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of each customer’s business and work with internal Management to develop viable strategies to grow the account.
Establish and build strong working relationships with internal teams such as Harvesting/Production, Shipping, Logistics, and Accounting to ensure successful customer service to your accounts.
Investigate, track and resolve customer concerns; identify trends and implement solutions.
Retain and grow your assigned key accounts.
Other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience in produce sales or related career required.
Excellent communication skills are required; provide excellent customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressured environment.
Ability and capability to influence and negotiate.
Must have ability to act independently and make competent decisions without supervision.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills; must exercise a high degree of initiative, discipline, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships within all levels of the organization.
Proficient software skills are required, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite applications, (i.e., Excel and Word) is required; prior Famous, EDI, ITrade and Foodlink experience is highly desired.
