Job Summary:

Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and designs programs and procedures to control and eliminate workplace injuries. Conducts inspections and enforces adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals.

 Essential Functions:

  • Assists, plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT)
  • Advises Safety Director and Management on safety compliance concerns and preventative actions
  • Manages Open Claims with TPA and attendance at all Quarterly Captive Meetings
  • Maintains all Training Records in organized manner on shared drive
  • Conducts Policy and Compliance Audits on all Equipment, Vehicles, Warehouses, Offices and Field Locations for all entities
  • Risk Reporting with findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
  • With Field Worker Safety Supervisor conducts post-accident investigations and prepares report identifying possible accident causes and hazards
  • Assists, schedules and/or conducts all company safety trainings including weekly tailgate agendas
  • Assists in the development, evaluation and upgrading of safety programs
  • Assists and maintains environmental reports where applicable

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in OSHA, DOT and EPA Regulatory Requirements
  • Excellent Communication and Training Skills
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication
  • Strong computer skills for Reporting, Presenting and Assessing
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Must be able and willing to travel as needed (Yuma Growing Region), Other as needed
  • Bilingual in Spanish a must

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5 years related experience

Physical Requirements:

The essential physical requirements for this position are:

  • Employee must have the ability to walk, talk, hear, see, speak, concentrate, reach in all directions, stoop, bend, lift up to 60 lbs.
