We are currently seeking a Vice President of Operations to join the LFP team at our Des Moines, IA location.  This position will require some travel to other LFP locations outside of Iowa. 

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day company operations.
  • Define and implement operations strategy, structure, and processes.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities.
  • Monitor performance to proactively identify efficiency issues and propose solutions.
  • Sustain a proficient knowledge of all phases of operations, including both transportation and warehousing.
  • Assure that operation teams are meeting KPI expectations.
  • Coordinate support to operations throughout the business.
  • Interview, hire, train, and mentor the operations management team.
  • Work with sales leadership team to make sure operations are hitting expectations.
  • Provide regular performance updates to the senior leadership team.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Proven track record as a department  leader who’s displayed effective  management practices
  • Demonstrated project and budget management skills
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of fundamental business principles
  • Analytical problem-solving skills with an impeccable attention to detail
  • Ability to set overall strategy and drive continuous process improvement
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to collaborate and build a consensus in a high-pressure environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT regulations and guidelines
  • Previous experience with routing software as well as a WMS system

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, transportation logistics, or a related field is preferred
  • 7-10 years supervisory experience in operations or related field
  • Previous experience working in food distribution preferred
  • Multi-team management experience
  • Previous P&L responsibility preferred
