This position will assist the Farm Manager and Operations Manager to oversee the daily planning, organization, supervision, general labor scheduling, and administration tasks to ensure farm operations are running efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in optimizing the direction of the Farm Manager to Farm Supervisors and Workers in activities of crop production on the farm such as; field monitoring, cultivating, planting, irrigation and applications of herbicides, fertilizers, fungicides, insecticides/pesticides, weeding. Assist by way of critical thinking and problem-solving to identify approaches or conclusions of a job task. Assist in coordination and teamwork skills with Harvest, Packinghouse Managers, and outside Contractors. Monitor weather conditions for short and long-term weather. Irrigation Scheduling and Application. Managing the use of appropriate equipment and materials required to do the job task. Monitor maintenance and repair of farm equipment. Handling paperwork, and Recordkeeping; Written/Electronic. Assist to maintain and comply with Local, and Federal and State Government Laws; Dept. of Labor, Dept. of Pesticide, Water Districts, Cal/OSHA Health & Safety Regulations, Gargiulo, Inc. Company Policies, and Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least 3 years prior, Supervisor/Management farm experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey information effectively. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook).
