Job description

Well•Pict Berries is searching for a candidate to fill the Human Resources and Safety Manager poistion. Duties would include, but not limited to: 

Human Resources and Safety Manager

  • Stay abreast of employment and labor laws in all jurisdictions the company operates (Federal, and California).
  • Inform management of upcoming /aw/regulation Assess and recommend company responses to changes.
  • Manage and document hiring, onboarding, required training and development of employees including maintaining training databases
  • Assures compliance and documentation of Paid Family Leave and Family & Medical Leave Act, as well as any other applicable leave
  • Guide, train and advise company supervisors and managers on employee and employer rights and responsibilities.
  • Create a safety conscience culture throughout the company through training interaction with company's employees.
  • Conduct, document and make recommendations relating to investigations on all personnel issues including allegations of harassment, discrimination, injuries etc.
  • Supervises safety in their conduct of the farm labor vehicle driver training program as well as the maintenance of DOT files and related
  • Coordinates light duty work with employee, supervisor, and physician and Worker's Compensation carrier.
  • Conduct comprehensive loss and claims management and analysis; follow up with all internal/external parties involved to expedite claims to closure

Safety Compliance

  • Develop metrics for measuring safety and use those metrics to enhance company policy and implement comprehensive and compliant employee safety and injury
  • Regularly reviews Workers' Compensation statistics and, in consultation with insurance company, works to reduce injuries and time lost from
  • Plan and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local,
  • state, and federal rules and regulations.
  • Conduct Policy and Compliance Audits on all Equipment, Warehouses, Offices and Field Locations for all entities
  • Follow up on all risk reporting to ensure measures have been implemented
  • Conduct post-accident investigations and prepare report identifying possible accident causes and hazards
  • Schedules and conducts all company safety trainings

Ranch Training

Annual Training include following topics:

  • General, Food, WPS & Heat Stress -All done when most of employees have
  • Irrigation Safety
  • Tractor Safety
  • Shop Safety -Done with Augie's Assistance
  • Coordinate CPR & First Aid, Forklift& Fire Extinguisher Training

Crew Training

Annual Training include following topics:

  • General Safety, Food Safety, WPS & Heat stress
  • Bi-Annual Training - Heat Stress
  • Distribute Monthly. Tailgate to BVL Foremen
