Job title: Area Sales Manager, West / Southwest

Reports to: Vice President

Location: Home Office needs to be within the territory in a West / Southwestern state of the United States.

The Area Sales Manager West / Southwest is the primary and immediate contact for all Benary+ grower accounts in the territory. As a member of the Benary / Benary+ sales team, your primary job function is to generate and procure business with existing and newly acquired customers for products from our two suppliers Benary (seed) and Volmary (vegetative).

Role and Responsibilities

  • Sell ornamental products of the two suppliers Benary (seed) and Volmary (vegetative) within the defined territory
  • Continuously expand the market share for Benary seed items
  • Continue to establish into the market the still relatively newly found Benary+ unrooted cutting line
  • Work with Benary & Benary+ customer service and operations management to fulfill and exceed our customers’ expectations on a daily basis
  • Troubleshoot any issues as they relate to customers’ orders and provide swift and progressive solutions
  • Provide general support, information and customer care to any grower within the territory regardless of direct purchasing status with Benary+
  • Communicate existing and new products & programs to the grower customers
  • Interact and work with national and regional retail businesses as it relates to assigned grower accounts
  • Work at and attend Trade Shows as needed
  • Reports to Vice President (Matthias Mart)
  • Home Office needs to be within the territory in a West / Southwestern state of the United States


  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture or an applicable equivalent
  • 5+ year’s experience in sales
  • Exceptionally good team player
  • Open minded to a new route to market business model for breeder level ornamental plant products
  • High personal energy level, integrity and motivation
  • Willingness for extensive travel (50+ % of the time), mainly within the territory, but also occasionally to other parts of North America. (No be reviewed and addressed on an ongoing basis according to health threats due to CoVid-19)
  • Need to work 5 – 6 weekends during the year
  • Fluent command of the English language with very good writing and oral skills
  • Good presentation skills
