Job Summary:  We are seeking a results-driven Sales Representative to actively seek out and engage customer prospects.  The Sales Manager may assign other duties to be completed by the Sales Representative.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Act as a point of contact for existing and potential customers within assigned area
  • Present, promote and sell products/services
  • Identify local business opportunities and challenges
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Analyze the territory/market potential, track sales and prepare market reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Entering, reviewing, and updating customers’ orders into the Company’s proprietary database.
  • Communication with all departments involved in the delivery process. (shipping, operations, transplanting and growing). Coordinator of shipping orders between internal departments.
  • Provide regular (weekly) updates to Sales Manager and attend scheduled sales meetings.
  • Travels throughout assigned territories to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders or talks with customers at growing operation. 50% of the time travel to out of local area.
  • Attends trade shows
  • Responsible for expense reports
  • Perform various other duties as required which may include assisting other departments
  • Wear appropriate PPE according to Standard Operating Procedures and job requirements

Language Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Bilingual/Bi-literate in Spanish is preferred for this position but is not required.

Mathematical Skills                                                     

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability                                           

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Planning, organization, and implementation skills with the ability to define, analyze, and resolve issues quickly and accurately.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Self-motivated and team-oriented.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong social media marketing skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • Valid CA driver license and insurable record.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk in person and on the telephone, attend meetings, stand and walk for extended periods of time and be exposed to outside elements in the field such as cold, heat, wind, rain, fog, and dust.  At times, the employee may be exposed to loud noises from equipment and machinery and may need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
