We are a Strawberry and Raspberry Grower looking for a Farm Office Payroll Administrator who is motivated and ready to learn at one of our Farm Offices located near Guadalupe, CA.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Agriculture Payroll and or Agriculture Office Administration.  

You will be tasked with ensuring data integrity, identifying, and addressing process improvements in our HR/payroll system and help develop solutions.  You must have strong organizational skills allowing you to manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in our farm payroll.

You are dedicated about making ongoing process improvements.  You will help identify challenges, analyze the root causes, seek to understand rationale behind current processes and provide solutions.  Work independently and follow tasks through to completion and meet commitments, proactively seeking guidance as necessary from the HR Manager.

Above all have a positive attitude and the desire to provide impeccable support to our farm operation management team.

WORK SCHEDULE: Must work a minimum of 40 hours per week; Holidays and Weekends will be required depending on seasonality.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Payroll:

  • Reconcile payroll from the field capturing thru check printing
  • Prepare and provide reports to accounting and finance department as required (worker comp auditing, assist with the Setup deductions / Cost accounting codes in DataTech and PickTrace...)
  • Help with the data entry into HRSM/Payroll system of new hires and rehires
  • Assist in developing expertise in office tools including payroll, timekeeping, and office processes to ensure correct reporting and assist in accuracy.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations that affect Agriculture Pay Structures in our farms
  • Ensure compliance with company policy, rules, and procedures
  • Assist with payroll trainings and development of the current farm office staff, forepersons, and supervisors.

Cost Accounting Activities:

  • During the off season you will help administrate specific activities such as employee H2A housing ordering of housing supplies and or documents required for contracting in the season.  Administrate expenses related to H2A housing by coding invoices.
  • Special labor reporting of farm activities to ensure operations has appropriate and timely information for decision making, including development of templates, cleaning and organizing raw data, presenting information in a timely manner to the team

IT Point of Contact:

  • Point of contact for troubleshooting PickTrace devices used for time management tracking tied into our payroll process.
  • Management of devices such as tablets and cell phones such as ordering, receiving, setting up devices, and issuing to employees.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in Agriculture Payroll and or Office Administration.  Willingness to continue attending Trainings and or courses pertaining to Legal updates or to our programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

You will be working in a farm office at our farm.  The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level and working conditions are similar to those for an administrative office. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold or heat.
